Mining Stock Education interview

Not much lead-in required after last week’s post-mortem on Minera Alamos.

This is probably my favourite interview that I’ve done. It’s less about MAI and more about learning from failure and have a process in place to analyze failed investments.

A few takeaways:

I need better lighting if I’m going to be doing interviews during thunderstorms.
The positive feedback from people in the mining industry, institutional investors and C-suite executives has been a surprise.
The why-do-I-want-to-listen-to-this-loser feedback from certain retail investors has not been surprising at all.

Berg is more likely than the average PFS-stage project to become a profitable operating mine. The orebody and economics are compelling. The biggest remaining hurdle is finding a partner capable of permitting, financing and building a C$4.7bn project. Just my opinion.

Those are some pretty incredible board additions in terms of executives who have already accomplished things in terms of building and permitting mines in British Columbia coming from Artemis $ARTG.V in Tony Scott and Skeena $SKE in Nalaine Morin

I bought Lomiko Metals. Going private for 13 cents a share in cash. I have a standing order for more $LMR.V at 11.5 cents to capture a 13% spread. It hits 2-3 times a day in small amounts so this works best with a WealthSimple account.

Nice little trade while Korea melts down.

This is my problem with Colonial Coal. There's no M&A fairy coming along to pay NAV for $CAD.V with the company not even pretending to move the project forward.

Whole thing is worth listening to. Interesting point that if acquirers are only willing to pay fixed +50% premium or less and the project NAV is 300% to 1000% more than current market then acquisition won't happen. But good luck building enough teams of mine builders to take it
